The 2007 release was the first of its kind, and it is definitely the obvious choice for one of the most important technological advancements in 2007.

Founding of Airbnb

In 2007, Airbnb was founded by Joe Gebbia and Brian Chesky. They were former schoolmates and roommates, and they came up with an idea to put an air mattress in their living room and turn it into bed and breakfast. A simple site called airbedandbreakfast.com was created, and they bought three air mattresses which they arranged in their loft.

Chesky and Gebbia quickly realized that this could be a good idea. They were later joined by a third co-founder called Nathan Blecharczyk.
